Limited service

Actions due to Covid-19

Opening hours & Extended hours

Following the newest restrictions, all activities that are not necessary to carry out with a physical presence on the University's premises are to be carried out digitally. The library is currently open weekdays between 10-12. Employees at the Department of Geology and the Department of Natural Geography and Ecosystem Science have access 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Students at these departments also have extended access around the library's opening hours: weekdays at 9.00-10.00 and 12.00-19.00. Remember to keep your distance from other people.

You can borrow books at the service point (the computer closest to the tree) with your LU card. To borrow, you need to have an activated loan account, which you can find on LUBcat "Register a new account". You can return books in the red box outside the library or at any other library within LU that is open. You can copy, scan and print on our copier. To be able do this You need a Papercut account, info is next to the copier.

Study environment

Note! The number of seats available in the library are for the moment reduced.

Interlibrary loan

For students and employees at the Departments of Geology and Natural Geography, we can only in exceptional cases order interlibrary loans from countries outside Sweden.

Borrowing period, overdue fines and ordered books

No delay charges are currently being generated until further notice. The maximum number of automatic re-loans for textbooks has now been increased to 11, if no one is in queue. The loan periods are the same as before, and reminders are sent out in the usual order. Should all libraries close, the return date will be moved forward until we reopen.

If you can't get to the library

If you do not have the opportunity to return the books in another way, You can send them by post, address: Lund University, Geobiblioteket, Sölvegatan 12, 223 62 Lund. If you are ill, in quarantine, or stuck due to travel restrictions, we ask you to return as soon as conditions allow. Please let us know by e-mail so you won't be blocked from further loans. You can send a representative to pick up your ordered books. This person needs to bring your library card and ID and their own ID.
